100 Days of Wonder – #84
At this point it will come as no surprise to anyone that I have Disney cookie cutters. Here you have representation from each of the four parks.

I made cinnamon biscuits, mince pies, a banana loaf, granola and bread this morning. All while listening to Christmas music (some Disney) and occasionally dancing round the kitchen.
Discovering the Disney parks and everything that comes with that has brought joy and wonder in so many different and unexpected ways. Somehow it has made it easy to find things that bring smiles and giggles, that remind of good times, that brought calm and escapism when I needed it most and that keep me focused on how being me is all I ever need to be. Making Disney biscuits, having Tinkerbell at the top of our tree, using Disney wrapping paper and exchanging Disney Christmas cards is just a reminder that my inner child is finally learning that she doesn’t need to be all grown up!
The good news is- I’m in a happy place that allowed me to switch out of work mode really quickly this year. The bad news, I’m still not great at making biscuit unless you like them very crunchy and a bit tasteless and cardboard-y

It’s my last working day of 2024. Of course my to do list suggests otherwise and I’m in that pre-leave hyper efficiency borderline panic mode. I will snap out of that when I get close to logging off. It’s just one of those pre going on leave rituals it seems.
I am looking forward to winding down, reading, an afternoon nap or two, cooking and baking and to stalking the Florida weather forecast so I can start thinking about packing for our trip.
The picture is of the side of the Contemporary Resort main building. If i close my eyes I can hear the sounds – people, the monorail…, I can smell it and I can feel the aircon. I think the Contemporary might be the first hotel I experienced that is a destination in itself. So much more than just a place to sleep. Several restaurants, shops, pool, grounds with a running path through it. I could probably spend a good few days just being there. And then it all comes with the magical Disney customer service. Yep, I’m ready to spend more time dreaming and less time thinking and to turn my attention to the more detailed planning for the trip. Like what will the first ride be? What would be yours?

It’s getting more and more Christmassy. I’m getting more out of office replies, our bookshelves are filled with Christmas cards and basically everyone has Christmas lights of some sort twinkling away in the garden or in windows.
Often the Christmas decorations such as the ones in this picture or the Christmas trees I e shared have still been up when we have arrived T Disney World in early January. They’re always lovely to see. I think seeing how Disney changes with the seasons probably shaped my decorations. You saw Halloween and I’ve shared our Christmas tree, too. It’s not that we go over the top in your face decorated but there’s some Christmas in most rooms. There’s window stickers, Christmas lights outside and in, ornaments, candles (real and LED) and Christmas LEGO. The decorations go up over a few days and the LEGO is built over a period of time starting towards the end of November. Doing it is part of the fun.
I have one more work day left. I can feel myself beginning to relax as I go through the ritual of switching all my little lights on as I settle down to watch something Christmas related on TV. We’re nearly there!
