100 Days of Wonder – #81

I went to Narnia today. Well sort of. It was our graduation at the Playhouse in Leeds and they are currently doing The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe in the Quarry Theatre. So with the set protected with temporary carpet and long black curtains, I spent a lovely hour sitting in Narnia celebrating students from the Faculty receiving their degrees.

It was extra special because our first ever cohort of LLM students graduated today. Great achievement for them and a big milestone for the Law School. And I love graduation. I love the occasion and ceremony. A good graduation is full of showmanship, of meaningful stories and of connection. And at Leeds Trinity Uni we do good graduations!

I have been to Narnia before. I mean I go in my head all the time – quick imaginary trip through the wardrobe- who doesn’t? But in 2006 I actually went. Here I am at the lamp post with Aslan looking down just so you know I’m not making it up.

100 Days of Wonder -#80

I’m watching Sports Personality of the Year. I’m not hugely focused on it though. Instead I’m thinking about my upcoming challenge. We fly out in three weeks and then we will be pretty much straight into the challenge.

Am I ready? Nope. But at the Disney runs I have previously seen others do the impossible and I have done the impossible. I learned to respect the distances but not fear them. I learned that running can be fun and I learned a lot about the mental game of running. In 2016 I hated, like nearly gave up hated, the section through ESPN World of Sport. So in 2019 I decided I would enjoy that section. I just decided. And it worked. So I’m deciding now that I’m going to go out there and enjoy it all. And if I don’t get round then so be it – but I will try and I will enjoy trying

100 Days of Wonder – 79

I haven’t written about music so far. We are both still full of cold so we curled up on the sofa and watched a documentary about John Williams the composer. Turns out that he wrote to score to pretty much every iconic film of my life. So while not Disney as such there’s enough of a link to share this picture with you. Listening to the music made me smile, remembering the films made me smile and then thinking about walking around Hollywood Studios in less than a month made me smile!
